Nordik Spa Village in Chelsea, Quebec (the spa older articles call Nordik Spa-Nature) charges $99 per person Monday to Thursday and $107 Friday to Sunday, before taxes, for access to more than 25 thermal installations. Key facts: $99 Mon–Thu, $107 Fri–Sun and "specific dates" (taxes not included, currency not labelled, presumably CAD) · 16 chemin Nordik, Chelsea · open daily, Mon–Thu 9:00–23:00, Fri–Sat 8:30–midnight, Sun 8:30–23:00 · 16+ · reservation mandatory · phone-free · sauna hat policy: not mentioned (checked 31 Oct 2026).
How much does Nordik Spa cost in 2026?
Village access is $99 per person Monday to Thursday and $107 Friday to Sunday and on "specific dates", according to the official rates page, and taxes are not included. The rate depends on the date you visit, not the date you book. The specific peak dates are published only as calendar images (October 2026 to March 2027), so check the calendar for your day. The dollar sign carries no "CAD" label on the page; it is presumably Canadian dollars. Two popular guides still quote older prices: one cites $94 and another a $65 day pass, both well out of date against the official figures.
Access includes a robe, towels, a locker and a contactless wristband, plus unlimited "Village Rituals" (Aufguss and guided meditations). The official FAQ asks guests not to bring their own towels. Massages, the Källa flotation pool and other experiences are booked separately.
What is there to do at Nordik Spa Village?
The official installations page lists seven sauna types (Aromatic, Finnish, Intense Heat, Meditative, Ritual, Steam Sauna or hammam, and Telluric, which is dug into the earth) and five baths: Cold Bath, Cold Bath with a waterfall, Panoramic Bath, Temperate Bath and Jet Bath. There are also outdoor campfires, heated yurts used for guided meditation, heated stone beds, rest areas with and without fireplaces and an exfoliation space with free Epsom salt scrubs. No temperatures are published. Older blogs count "9 saunas" or "two steam rooms"; the current page lists seven sauna types and one steam option, so trust the page.
The recommended cycle on the thermal-experience page is 10 to 15 minutes of heat, 10 to 15 seconds of cold, at least 20 minutes of rest, repeated at least three times.
What is an Aufguss, and how do you join one?
An Aufguss is a ritual in which an attendant pours scented water over the stones and waves the heat across the room with a towel. At Nordik the rituals are included, need no reservation and run first come, first served on a schedule posted on site. Listed formats are Discovery (the shortest, for beginners), Artisan, Meditative, Discovery Arboreal (with a birch venik in the Banya) and Resin Diffusion, marked "new". Capacity is 60 in the Finlandia and 40 in the Banya. Wear a swimsuit, leave sandals, water bottle and belongings outside, bring a towel to sit on, and do not plan to leave and come back: once you step out you cannot re-enter. See what löyly is and banya vs Finnish sauna for what the different formats mean.
Can you wear a sauna hat at Nordik?
The official village code, rituals page and installations page do not mention sauna hats. The only hat reference is the FAQ packing list, which suggests an optional warm hat for cold days, meaning the walk between outdoor baths in winter, not a sauna rule. The two most-read third-party guides do not address hats either. That absence is a finding, not a green light. [DATO PROPIO PENDIENTE: email info@lenordik.com and quote their written answer here.] Felt hats are standard in a banya, and the Banya here hosts the birch-venik ritual, so it is a reasonable question to ask. If you want one, our 100% merino felt sauna hat is $59.99 CAD, and do sauna hats actually work explains what a hat does at head height. Disclosure: we sell it.
What are Nordik's rules on swimsuits, phones and silence?
Swimsuits must be worn throughout the Village; robes are optional but shoulders must be covered in restaurants. The Village is a phone-free space: phones stay in the locker for saunas and baths, quiet reading or messaging is allowed in the lobby, boutique, lockers and the Resto, and photos, videos and calls are never permitted in those areas. There is no Wi-Fi. Voices must stay lower than the Village waterfall, and silence is mandatory at sauna entrances, inside saunas and in the rest areas. No outside food or alcohol, reusable bottles without glass are fine, and you shower before your first cycle. A CTV report dated 10 February 2026 (press-reported, article text not retrievable) describes the spa tightening cellphone rules, so treat the phone rule as strict.
Do you need to book, and what is the cancellation policy?
Yes, booking is mandatory online or by phone. The FAQ suggests booking at least two weeks ahead, though same-day is often possible, and up to four guests can be added to one booking. Cancel 48 hours or more ahead for a full refund; between 24 and 48 hours you receive a gift certificate; inside 24 hours you can reschedule with rate differences or change fees. There is no weather compensation, and baths close temporarily during thunderstorms.
How do you get to Nordik from Ottawa without a car?
The official FAQ names taxi, Uber and Communauto, and staff can call a taxi; we found no official public-transit route. The Village is 16 chemin Nordik, Chelsea, with free parking and accessible spaces near the main entrance, though steps are still needed to reach the door. Hours are Monday to Thursday 9:00–23:00, Friday and Saturday 8:30–midnight and Sunday 8:30–23:00.
Is the massage safe to book right now?
Press reports dated 26–28 October 2026 (CTV News Ottawa, CP24, Lowdown Online) describe a class action and new safety measures for massage services at this spa. We have not independently verified any claim, and allegations are not findings. The official page describing the measures is chelsea.lenordik.com/massage-therapy-protective-measures; read it and decide for yourself. Massages are not included in village access and are booked separately.

How we checked
We read Nordik's official pages (rates, FAQ, village code, installations, rituals, thermal experience and contact) on 31 October 2026 and recorded each figure as written. We did not visit for this guide. Gaps: the peak-date calendar is images only, the currency and tax rate are not stated, and massage and Källa prices were not retrieved. Press items are labelled as such. We could not retrieve search "People also ask" boxes or Reddit threads, so the FAQ draws on the official FAQ and the gaps in older guides. Sources: rates, FAQ, village code, installations, rituals, thermal experience, contact.
